What's in a name?

"That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2), William Shakespeare

What all the "Whole Food" diets have in common is the focus on eating "real" food and the avoidance of "processed" food. The definition of what is a "processed" food can often vary. Some believe that even rice is a "processed" food as it is highly "modified" from its original farm-form.  The Low Carb Movement considers itself in the Whole Foods umbrella. LCHF stands for Low Carb High Fat.  Depending on which practitioner you follow, which phase of your journey you are in, or what your health goals are, you may eat more or less carbs, protein and fat. There is a sweet spot for everyone.

There are many names referring to Whole Food, and Low Carb, diets, half the battle is knowing what to eat and the other half is putting it into practice.

Eating REAL Food means consuming mostly animals and/or plants that are NOT  processed. Real foods don't have a list of ingredients. The food is the ingredient.

Most practitioners agree that grains should be avoided in this way of eating as to leave room for more nutritionally-appropriate choices and to aid in weight-loss, lowering inflammation and health promotion.

Here, I will focus on a range of Low Carb Diets, including KetogenicPrimal as well as Vegetarian approaches to these.

HOW you eat, not just WHAT you eat, if of utmost importance, and for that reason, I believe Intermittent Fasting to be critical. On this site you will also find an endless resource of Recipes.
