Fasting and Exercise

If you don't know GSP, he is the greatest UFC and mixed martial arts fighter of all time! In this Podcast with Joe Rogan (*I apologize for the SWEARING***) he talks about the BENEFITS of Intermittent Fasting on his health and Exercise performance. AMAZING!!!

“I have never felt better in my life…I sleep better…less inflammation…in 5 months…fat percentage has decreased, my muscle mass has increased, but my weight is the same…my training has not changed. The only thing that has changed is TRF (Time Restricted Feeding) and IF (Intermittent Fasting). That's what helped me the most...

As human beings we are overfed. Humans (Paleolithic) did not eat twice a day, they ate a few times per week... But when they ate, they ate a lot. I just wish I knew this before... Even though I wasn't hungry in the morning, I was always forcing myself to eat…I don't really watch what I eat, it's more WHEN I eat…I just try to eat healthy and good. Since I learned about IF and TRF, I train in empty stomach. I feel better up here (brain). Especially in Jiu-Jitsu, I feel lighter...I no longer eat when I'm not hungry. I was conditioned to eat all the time... My body acclimates to it... I can eat only once a day, no problem...

If you look at nature, it makes sense! I am much stronger, I feel sharper... (Bursitis, Inflammation) Used to be a chronic thing, I don't feel it anymore...since I started this!”

This is a MUST listen podcast. He mentions Dr. Jason Fung as the amazing Doctor and IF expert that he is.

Dr. Jason Fung and Megan Ramos has done a tremendous amount of research and work with Exercise Performance ahtletes in the last couple of years. Have a look at the research and information provides on Exercise and IF.

The take-home message is that Fasting increases muscle mass in the appropriate conditions, it DOES NOT BURN MUSCLE or these World-Class athletes would not be doing it! Biohacking at it's best.
